I’ve been saying ‘Oy!’ a lot. I know I’m not Jewish so saying “Oy Vey!”(which is Yiddish) probably isn’t the wisest thing, but Dave says it all the time on his blog, and it’s addictive.

Speaking of not being Jewish, a surprising number of the people I hang around on a daily basis are (I had named them previously, but I decided that wasn’t a good idea).

Anyways, it just goes to show that I know a lot of very smart people, and a lot of those people are Jewish. I’m wonder if there are just as many Athiests and Christians?

It’d be interesting to see this as a poll.

Interesting, but I don’t know what signifigance it would hold. I don’t think descriminating on the basis of religion is a good idea. Don’t get pissed at me for observing something.

I now concider myself a Humanist, it fits me well. [Jeremiah’s Radio Weblog]

About being Jewish: although my ethnicity is Jewish (and what else could it be with the name Cohen?), I don’t really consider myself belonging to the Jewish religion, or any other organized religion for that matter. I’m not exactly an Atheist, but I don’t really believe in the Judeo-Christian concept of god. Religion isn’t really something I think about, but when I do, I guess I prefer Eastern religions.

Weight loss for geeks. A spectre is haunting Kuro5hin: the spectre of obesity. A look at the diary section reveals that regular K5ers are enormous, bloated fat behemoths, barely capable of reaching their keyboards over their gurgling, grossly distended, sweat-oozing bellies [links omitted to protect the guilty]. But do not despair! Geeks can lose weight. CAD coder and CEO John Walker has created a Hacker’s Diet especially for you! It’s available online, and downloadable as a zipped PDF or even a gzip postscript file. You can even download computer-based tools for Palm and Excel. Too lazy for that? Kuro5hin’s own TheophileEscargot has his own guide, The Fat Bloke’s Guide to Becoming Less Fat, dedicated to proving that even the idle can become thinner. If he can do it, anyone can! [kuro5hin.org]

I really need to start going to the gym again. I’ve been getting really lazy lately. Since I’ve been working at home, I spend way too much time in front of the computer and I’m not getting enough exercise. I feel really out of shape now

Why have you copy-protected the CD?

UMG is incorporating copy protection into their CDs to assess its viability in protecting the rights of our artists and copyright holders by preventing CD copying and illegal Internet distribution

Are you considering buying a new PDA or upgrading your current device? The Palm has been around for a while. It is a proven and efficient OS. Many, many apps have been deployed to this platform. Additionally, many hardware components have been developed as well. Palm has even introduced a new conduit that is OS X enhanced. I have been testing the Palm Desktop public beta and I like it. I am beginning to wonder, “Who needs Entourage?” [Radio X Neophyte]

A few months ago I replaced my old Palm III with a Visor Prism. I love the color screen and the USB cradle syncs a lot more reliably than my old Palm did with a Keyspan PDA Adapter.

A few times I’ve seen an error when I sync saying that it can’t access the user data file. When that happens, Palm Desktop also won’t show my data. Going to the terminal window and killing the Palm Desktop Background process fixes the problem.

I’m planning to get a Visor Phone to go along with it so I won’t have to schlep both a cell phone and my Visor wherever I go as I do now.
