Apple has finally approved the free ad-supported version of I Can Has Cneezburger (v1.5), which I submitted on June 15th. This version has all of the improvements of the 99¢ premium version except it has ads from Collider Media. I’ve already submitted a 1.5.1 update of the premium version, which adds a shuffle feature & support for mailing images in OS 3.0. When that one is approved, I should have version 1.6 ready for both free & premium versions, which adds a login feature in the premium version only, and all of the 1.5.1 enhancements to the free version.

I’ve implemented Cheezburger authorization in the next version of ICHC Premium. By logging into ICHC, any LOLs you create in the app will be credited to you and appear in your profile, rather than as ‘dunno source’.

Since I’m still waiting for Apple to approve version 1.5 of the free ad-supported version (which I submitted on June 15) and version 1.5.1 of the premium version, which I submitted on June 28, it will probably be a while before this version is available.

With current version or free version, any LOLs you create will be uncredited.

Any LOLs you create with the premium version when you log in will be credited to you and appear in your profile.

I’ve just submitted the version 1.5.1 update for ICHC Premium. Apple still hasn’t approved version 1.5 of ICHC ad-supported, so I’m not updating that one yet.

This update has several major enhancements:

• Shake to shuffle for random LOLs
• Movies show web page immediately instead of click to play graphic
• Action sheet no longer shows ‘save to photos’ for movies
• Can now email images rather than just links in OS 3.0

I really enjoy the shuffle feature, and I hope everyone else likes it just as much.

The next update will further differentiate the free & premium versions by letting you log in to your ICHC account only in the premium version. That will give you proper attribution for any LOLs you create and let you save LOLs to your favorites.

I’m now using OS 3.0’s message UI in ICHC to let you email the actual image rather than just a link. Of course if you’re running 2.x, it will still do it the old way, using mail.app and only send a link.

Since Apple still hasn’t approved the update to the free version, I’ll probably submit this as an update to the premium version in the next few days. Once version 1.5 of the free version is approved, I’ll release an update to that one as well.

I’m really enjoying the new shuffle feature I added to ICHC. I can’t wait to release this update. Since Apple still hasn’t approved the update to the free ad-supported version that I submitted at the same time, I’ll probably release this as an update to the premium version first.

I’ve implemented a much-requested feature for the next update to I Can Has Cheezburger: you can now shake the iPhone for a random LOL. It still has a few issues I need to work on before I release it. Hopefully Apple will approve the free version before I’m ready with the next update.

The new features in this version are:

• Use Cheezburger API to submit LOLs to ICanHasCheezburger.com
• Fixed non-working movies by embdding them in a web page, which can be clicked, rather than opening the URL directly
• Saves current item for all sites.
• Rewrote XML code to use NSXMLParser rather than a document-based parser.
• Massive code cleanup.
• Images are cached for faster viewing
• Added Once Upon A Win
• Ads from Collider (only in the free version, not in the 99¢ version)

For the next release I plan to add the ability to shake your iPhone for a random image, support for OS 3.0’s mail UI to send LOLs rather than switching to mail.app to send a URL.

I also plan to add support for authenticated access to I Can Has Cheezburger so LOLs you create will be attributed to your screen name on ICHC, and most likely a way to access your favorites. I’m considering making this feature available only in the premium version.
